Janet's Page - News from the Schools Minister
The role of Schools Minister was created when I joined the team in October 2007. It is to support the three church schools within the parish, strengthen the links with the churches and develop new ways for the children, their families and the staff to explore their faith and worship together. On this page I'll keep you updated with all that we do together.

The team of Christ the Servant and St Thomas the Martyr work closely with our three Church Schools - Bishop Martin, St Thomas the Martyr and Roby Mill. The schools have their own websites which you can access here. |

Schools Celebration Service 26th June 2011 at St Thomas the Martyr Church A joint service to celebrate the work in our schools |

Confirmation 15th June 2011 at St Thomas the Martyr Church Explorers Confirmation classes were held in Bishop Martin School, St Thomas the Martyr School and, for Roby Mill children, in St Thomas the Martyr Church.

Links with St Andrew's School Exuma in the Bahamas Tentative links were made in 2010 and this really took off in the new school year from September. Find out more here! |

Pantomime - Aladdin Some children from Bishop Martin school performed a dance as the Jewels in Aladdin's cave. It was also good to see some of the children, including past pupils, take part in the cast. |

Explorers Lunch clubs Our Explorers clubs have continued to develop at Bishop Martin and St Thomas the Martyr, with new children joining over the course of the year. |

Confirmation 21st June 2010 at St Thomas the Martyr Church Explorers Confirmation classes were held in Bishop Martin School, St Thomas the Martyr School and, for Roby Mill children, in St Thomas the Martyr Church. Bishop Richard joined us for a wonderful service and confirmed 22 children and 2 adults. |

Some children from Bishop Martin school performed a dance as "Dick Whittington's dream people" and also acted as King Rat's "Little ratlings". |
