Dick Whittington by Sarah Suet
Hello everyone I’m Sarah Suet some of you may have met me in February as I was here for a week at Christ the Servant by kind invitation from the UpHolland team ministry.
Well as you know I am the cook for Fitzwarrens stores…. Oh you may already know that but anyway if you don’t you missed out all the fun of the panto.
I can only say that it was a great pleasure yet again to see new faces and old ones!! In the cast and crew and I can’t believe that we have done it, that is got through another five months of rehearsals and a full week of shows, it was just a pity that the power of the lights we could not see a thing at times on the stage and Dave who brought them said to me I am sorry that it is a bit basic any brighter and we would be able to see the church from space!
This is the second time I have donned my dresses and wigs and Janet said that this was a bit more difficult than Jack and the bean stalk but I didn’t think it would be that difficult!
I had my own corner behind stage for all my costumes and it was nicknamed Sarah’s Boutique and thank you to King Rat (Boo Hiss) for helping me with my costume changes each night, she was not all bad.
At least I think that I had the right costume on at the right time mostly. But it all went extremely well and we all had a great time doing it, it has taken me around 10 days to recover from the ordeal but worth every minute to do it.
Roll on next year for Aladin but enough from me you are probably fed up with articles from the panto so if you missed it this year make sure you get your tickets in January 2011 for next years performance.
And don’t forget the panto motto:
The difference between try and triumph is a bit of ‘UMPH’.
Regards
Paul givens (AKA Sarah Suet)
p.s. What is the definition of a banana, a cucumber with yellow jaundice. I thought I had better say the line as I missed it all week through the performance oh well better luck next year.
