Daisy comes to town
When Janet said last Summer, “Do you think we could one day do a pantomime for the community?”, well we did not think that we would be able to get everyone together to do one this year.
Well we all turned up in October for auditions and everyone was happy and full of excitement for putting this on. I think Janet was surprised when she said does anyone want to be Daisy, me & Kathryn put our hands straight up as we did not want a large part.
I was the front part of daisy the cow and Kathryn was the back of the cow. We had so much fun. At the first rehearsal myself and Kathryn decided we wanted to be the cow. Janet thought no one would want to be such a small part and everyone would want a big part, but we only wanted a small part.
In the rehearsals we watched everyone practising watching them was so funny. We did not think that we could do it as we still couldn’t get our lines right even on the Sunday before the week of the panto. However we pulled together like a proper family as that is all I can explain what it was like.
We had to do a dance and try and beat dame trot and of course we won twice. The first time we had to do the Can Can and then we had to do a polka. It was even better because I had to kick Dame Trot in part of it, (This was made better because Dame Trot was my Dad!)
The week of the panto arrived so soon everyone was nervous. But the main thing is we had a lot of fun. Not just on the week of the panto but the weeks coming up to it as well. It was both churches Christ the Servant and St Thomas the Martyr church. We have made so many new friends we can’t wait for the auditions for the next one. Congratulations to everyone and we hope that if you went you had as much fun as we did and if you did not get tickets, well all I can say is make sure you get your tickets earlier next year.
Could we do a panto was the question Oh no we can’t was the answer, well all I can say is
OH YES WE CAN!!!!
