4th Annual Conker Championships

Competition is heating up at this annual event in the vicarage garden at Christ the Servant. We now have an official cup which will be presented each year. On Sunday 10th October the first names were already engraved. Of course, the last three years have seen the Woods family establish themselves as Conker Champions - 2007 Kathryn, 2008 Alison, 2009 Paul. It was time to break this monopoly! Solution - make them play each other in the opening rounds! The rest of the adults soon knocked the other children out of the competition - hmmm, is it getting too competitive? Before long a new champion received the 2010 cup - Dave Fendle. Lots of people came to enjoy the afternoon in the garden and great fun was had by all. Don’t miss it next year! The 5th annual competition will take place on Sunday 9th October 2011 …. and the vicar would like to win!
