Vicarage Garden Party 16th August 2008

The weather report for Saturday was dire. Heavy showers, thundery at times, plus strong to gale force winds. This did not bode well for the planned garden party.

Everyone at Christ the Servant must have spent a long time on their knees because from 2 – 4pm on the 16th there were only a few spits and spots of rain. However, it was very windy.

We all enjoyed Phyllis’s cream scones and delicious cakes despite having to hang on not only to the plate, but to the table as well to stop them blowing away.

In addition to the good food many of us tried our hand at circus skills – diablo, plate spinning, juggling etc. Some people were much more successful at this than others. Needless to say, I will not be running off to join the big top any time soon!
