The questions were asked, “Can we put on a variety show” and “Have we got the talent in our Parish to put such a show on?”. Well I can safely say that the answer is YES, YES, YES.
At 11pm on the Friday night I knew that it was going to be a long weekend. Myself, Janet & Dave all met on Thursday night to finalise the Variety Show and the order that everyone was coming on at and still up to 9 o'clock Janet was chasing people to make sure that they were all ready (you know what these actors are like!). We got the music and the order sorted, it was going great. We even had all the timing sorted and what time the show was going to start and finish.
Meeting over, it was time to get the comparing sorted, that was me & Dave. Another meeting was made for the Friday night to sort out what we were going to say and do between acts. No mean feat, because you do not know how hard it was to make sure that everything that we did and said was clean! Eventually at around 11ish we had everything sorted. (Even our suites and ties).
The night came and everyone was excited, the venue was perfect, however, we forgot that the regulars went to the back room for a game of snooker! Every single performer was brilliant and the whole show should have lasted till 9 o'clock, however, we didn't add the time that me & Dave were on stage, so I must apologise for delaying everything by 1½ hours! Oops!!
The only problem is that we have now set the bar at such a height it will be difficult to beat it, but I know that with the talent that we have within the Parish we can do it. So again, a big thank you to everyone that took part and we look forward to the next one. The only down side were the compares, well you can’t get everything right.
I hope that everyone that attended the variety show had as much of a good time as I did. See you for the next one.

Actually the compares were great and I’m sure we’ll book them another time! You could tell they were enjoying themselves and their enthusiasm was infectious. Well done to all who took part and thanks to all those who worked behind the scenes organising the food, front of house and technical aspects.
The evening didn’t end when the show did. After some folk music provided by JAM those who still had some energy danced the night away (and I finally got the steps right for Achy Breaky Heart!).
